Ao Niad Beach – Koh Phangan Beach

Just round the corner from Srithanu beach you will find another sandy stretch of beach called Ao Niad. This stretch of beach is more natural with no resorts or restaurants backing the beach. The first stretch from Srithanu there are a few bungalows then it’s just a wild patch of jungle which sits behind the beach, a few meters through the jungle behind the beach you will find the lake of Sri Thanu. The beach looks rough with a lot of sea debris across it because it’s not maintained like Srithanu beach.

This is an excellent spot to escape the crowd if there is one on Srithanu beach. The sea here is great for swimming with plenty of sand patches. The beach its self although there is a lot of debris, it takes a few minutes to clear a spot on the beach for sunbathing. Another great place to sit and watch the sunset. You can see the next bay from this beach which is Ao Chao Phao and you can also see the terrace of Pirates bar which is at the start of Ao Chao Phao.
